CONTEXT
The Brief.
North was developed for a contemporary furniture house seeking a more considered digital presence.
The project combined editorial storytelling and commerce within a single experience, allowing products, collections, and ideas to coexist.
The goal was to create a platform that reflected the same level of care found in the physical objects themselves.

ASSIGNMENT
Material quality rarely survives screens.
The challenge was not about showcasing more products.
It was about preserving the sense of restraint, atmosphere, and craft that defined the physical experience.
The platform needed to support commerce without reducing the brand to a catalogue.

DESIGN DECISIONS
Design decisions.
01
Materiality informed the interface.
Spacing, texture, and pacing were inspired by the physical qualities of the objects rather than ecommerce conventions.

02
Commerce without urgency.
The experience prioritized exploration and context, allowing products to be discovered rather than pushed.

03
Editorial consistency throughout.
Content, collections, and product stories were organized through a consistent editorial structure.

WHAT EMERGED
The outcome.
The platform translated the atmosphere, restraint, and material quality of the brand into a digital environment.
Products, collections, and stories were given equal consideration, creating an experience that feels curated rather than transactional.
What emerged was a commerce platform that supports business objectives without losing the character that makes the brand distinct.
